‘Talk on C. S. Lewis’ ‘Before Narnia’ with Claire Rae Randall.

June 23 @ 19:15

£3.50 – £4

CS Lewis: Before Narnia
CS Lewis is best known today for his Chronicles of Narnia but he was already an established figure in the popular imagination in the 1940s before Narnia was known to the world.
In his literary works he expressed a deep concern with the Problem of Evil and the corruption of humanity by demonic forces which he believed to be entirely real, albeit in immaterial form. In this talk Claire Rae Randall will explore the spiritual and philosophic underpinnings of Lewis’s cosmology through works such as The Abolition of Man, The Screwtape Letters and his Interplanetary Trilogy which influenced both the hugely popular Avatar movie and Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four.
