LCA Poetry & Prose Evening with Pamela Scobie on ‘Any Kind of Love’
November 20, 2019 @ 19:30 - 21:30
£4.00Leeds Combined Arts Poetry & Prose Evening – Wednesday 20th November, 7.30 p.m. HEART, Bennett Road, Headingley LS6 3HN.
This evenings Poetry and Prose Evening will be hosted by Otley Poet Pamela Scobie & Linda Marshall. Pam started writing poetry and short stories in 2008, having previously focused on novels and plays. She is not especially confessional, preferring to imagine how she might behave in different circumstances or in different skins. Nevertheless, she does draw on observation and personal experience. She lived for eight years with the poet T.F. Griffin, who died in 2016, and who inspired many of her love poems. She has had some success in competitions and magazines and has two collections out: “Oh, Darling Doctor Frankenstein” and “The Dark Side of the bed”. Linda Marshall’s poetry has a wry, whimsical quality. She’s taken part in many local readings and has had two collections published, first ‘Brakken City’ and then a decade later ‘Half Moon Glasses’.
