DESCRIPTION:Based on the Oscar winning film which famously starred Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman\, Bill Kenwright presents the inaugural Classic Screen to Stage Theatre Company with a production of Rain Man\, which won Oscars for Best Picture\, Best Screenplay\, Best Director and Best Actor for Hoffman.\n\nWhen self-centred salesman Charlie Babbitt discovers that he has a long-lost older brother\, Raymond\, who has inherited the family multimillion dollar fortune\, he sets out to get ‘his half’.  Raymond is an autistic savant\, has a remarkable memory and a genius for numbers. His most recent West End stage credit was The Miser opposite Griff Rhys Jones and Lee Mack. Ed Speleers (Charlie Babbit) starred as Jimmy Kent in the Golden Globe award winning series Downton Abbey\, his breakthrough came after landing the lead role in the fantasy Blockbuster Eragon\, since then he has starred in many films and TV series and has just been announced as joining the cast of Outlander. Rain Man follows previous acclaimed Bill Kenwright productions of films to the stage such as A Few Good Men\, The Shawshank Redemption and Twelve Angry Men.\n\n\nTickets cost: 18.50

SUMMARY:LCA Book Reading Group
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our bi- weekly book reading group at Meanwood Institute\, Green Road\, Meanwood. We are a friendly group of people who like to take turns to read aloud. Entrance £2.50 including refreshments.\nIf you would like any further information about our book reading group please contact Carol on 07708 230 333.\n+ Google Calendar+ iCal Export

SUMMARY:LCA Walk around Woodlesford and Methely
DESCRIPTION:An easy 5 mile circular based on Woodlesford railway station(LS26 8RA)\, commencing at 11.30 a.m. The Castleford/Knottingley line train leaves Leeds (usually Platform 17) at 11.16 and reaches Woodlesford at 11.25. There is a good station car park (strictly speaking for rail users\, though it’s unlikely to be a problem on a Sunday) and nearby street parking.  The walk goes past Woodlesford church to the southern canal towpath and along to Methley\, crossing the river for a brief incursion into St Aidan’s RSPB reserve for a picnic stop\, and returning to Woodlesford via Fleet Lane. \nHot and cold drinks can be obtained from the Two Pointers pub\, 5 minutes walk from the station. Unfortunately the pub does not currently serve food. \nTrains back to Leeds are hourly at 10 to the hour. Bring suitable walking gear\, water and a picnic lunch.  Exactly one week after the centenary of the World War 1 armistice\, an appropriate theme for poems/songs etc would be the End of War. \nFurther details: Rob Baker 0113 216 4492. \n

SUMMARY:Mind\, Body\, Spirit Evening 'Positive Astrology'
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever found that what you focus on grows?\nMost likely yes since it’s certainly not a new sentiment; throughout history philosophers and spiritual teachers have taught us about the ‘Law of Attraction’ and elegant though the law may be in its simplicity\, truth is\, it can be hard to truly to commit to as a daily life guide but astrology can help. Your birth chart is the map of your own individual soul and so can be used as a tool to help you make the most of your life. \nThis talk will be part explanation and part workshop and hopefully you will leave with some tips to help make your own life a bit more positive. Entrance £4.00/£3.00 members and concessions\, including refreshments.
